Terms of Service
Last updated: 23 August 2026 - version 1.0. These terms govern the use of ShopWatch (the "Service"). In all other respects the law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies. This English version is provided for convenience; in case of doubt the German version prevails.
1. Provider and scope
The Service is provided by Roman Allenstein, Schnepfenweg 1C, 27607 Geestland, Germany ("we"). Further details are in the legal notice. These terms apply to every contract on the use of the Service. The Service is aimed at businesses within the meaning of Section 14 of the German Civil Code (BGB), in particular online-shop operators and agencies. Deviating terms of the user do not become part of the contract.
2. The Service
ShopWatch automatically checks publicly reachable online shops for performance, security, SEO, trust signals and availability and condenses the results into scores, findings and recommendations. All results are produced by machines from publicly accessible data and are assessments - they do not replace legal, tax or technical advice and come with no guarantee of completeness or accuracy. We develop the Service continuously and may add, change or discontinue features as long as the essential scope of a paid plan is preserved. We aim for high availability but do not owe uninterrupted reachability; maintenance windows are announced where possible.
3. Registration and account
An account is required. Sign-in is passwordless via a code sent by e-mail. You are responsible for protecting access to your mailbox and for all actions taken through your account. Your details must be accurate and kept up to date.
4. Acceptable use
You may add shops that you operate yourself or are authorised to have checked. Competitor comparisons only use publicly accessible data. In particular, you must not attempt to overload, circumvent or disrupt the Service or the systems it checks, query the Service automatically outside its intended features, or pass access on to third parties. We may suspend or terminate accounts in case of violations.
5. Prices, payment and term
The free plan can be used at any time. Paid plans are charged at the prices shown on the pricing page at the time of order, plus statutory VAT unless stated otherwise. Billing is monthly or yearly in advance depending on the chosen billing interval; additional shops are charged as described on the pricing page. Paid plans renew automatically for the chosen interval unless cancelled in your account before it ends. You can cancel at any time with effect from the end of the current billing period; the plan stays active until then. Price changes are announced by e-mail at least four weeks before they take effect.
6. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health. In case of slight negligence we are liable only for the breach of essential contractual obligations, limited to the typical, foreseeable damage. You remain responsible for decisions you take based on scores, findings or recommendations of the Service. Liability under the German Product Liability Act remains unaffected.
7. Data protection
Information on the processing of personal data is available in our privacy policy.
8. Changes to these terms
We may adapt these terms when required for legal reasons or because of the further development of the Service. We inform you about changes in your account; the changed terms apply once you accept them there. If you do not accept them, you can still cancel your account.
9. Final provisions
The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If the user is a merchant, a legal entity under public law or a special fund under public law, the place of jurisdiction is the provider's registered seat. Should individual provisions be invalid, the remaining provisions stay in effect.
